Maria Dolores Porcel Sanchez

Dr. Maria Dolores Porcel Sanchez is excited to join the Animal Specialty Center as a specialist in Dentistry and Oral Surgery. She is a graduate of CEU Cardenal Herrera University, Spain, where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.

After graduation, she completed small animal internships and general practice work in Europe, including France and the United Kingdom. She then moved to North America, where she worked as Associate Research in Orthopedic Surgery at Michigan State University, followed by advanced internships and clinical training at the Ontario Veterinary College and Université de Montréal, Canada.

She later relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina, where she completed Translational Research and pain-focused fellowship program at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine, before completing her Residency training in Dentistry and Oral Surgery at NC State.

Her clinical interests include comprehensive Dentistry and Oral Surgery, traumatic oral surgery, endodontics, periodontology, with a special interest in case management and CBCT-based diagnostics.

Outside of clinical practice, she enjoys hiking, running, traveling, singing, and scuba diving.
