Dr. Brianne Karten is excited to join the Animal Specialty Center as a radiation oncologist. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. After a one year rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at the Veterinary Referral Emergency Center of Westbury on Long Island, NY, Dr. Karten pursued an additional one year specialty internship in radiation oncology here at ASC with Dr. Rosen. She then moved to Raleigh, NC and completed residency training in radiation oncology at the North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine. She previously received a Master of Laboratory Animal Science from Drexel University College of Medicine.

Dr. Karten's special interests within oncology include palliative care, feline medicine, behavior, and veterinary community outreach. Originally from the New York area, she is happy to be back but remains loyal to Philly mascot, Gritty.
