Dr. Samantha Keat grew up in central New Jersey. She received her bachelor’s degree from New York University before going on to veterinary school. In 2011, she earned her DVM from Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. She then completed a rotating small animal internship at VCA San Francisco Veterinary Specialists and stayed on as part of their ER team. In 2018, Sam and her husband road-tripped across the country to Yonkers, NY, where she joined the Animal Specialty Center Emergency team. In 2020, she became ASC’s ER/ICU DVM Service Lead, which has added to her management experience. Sam enjoys the pace and unexpected nature of emergency and critical care medicine and has a particular interest in ophthalmology – and toxicology-related emergencies. In her spare time, Sam enjoys watercolor painting, watching movies, and traveling.
