The ONCEPT™ vaccine aids in extending survival times of dogs with stage II or stage III oral melanoma and for which local disease control has been achieved. ONCEPT™ is a product of Merial Limited.

Animal Specialty Center is an emergency and referral hospital. That means we are fully staffed and prepared to see patients for all types of emergencies, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If you wish to include Animal Specialty Center’s contact information on your after-hours voicemail, we are happy to accept those cases when your practice may be closed.

If we treat one of your patients, you will be contacted at the earliest possible moment to provide an update on the patient’s condition and a summary of services rendered. If the patient is in stable condition and can safely be transferred back to your facility, you will be provided with a discharge summary and detailed instructions for follow-up care.

Appointments to see one of our specialists are accepted by referral. We currently offer specialty care in Emergency, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Medical & Radiation Oncology, Cardiology, Avian and Exotics, Behavior, Physical Therapy, and Acupuncture/Complementary Medicine. Different departments’ schedules may vary however most specialty appointments are available Monday – Friday.

It is our sincere desire to supplement the services you offer as a primary care veterinarian, and provide emergency and specialty expertise when it is in the best interest of the pet. We encourage you to call at any time with inquiries, or to share pertinent information when referring a case. We also welcome your participation onsite if you wish to scrub in on a case you have referred, observe a procedure, or simply to visit with our specialists in a particular department of interest. Our ability to successfully serve you and your patient referrals depends on a commitment to timely communication. Therefore we extend to you an open invitation to collaborate with us, as together, we expand the horizons of veterinary care.
